HFMS Families: The Track MAC Championship event for tomorrow at Jefferson High will be rescheduled due to a scheduling conflict. Track athletes should report for normal practices after school tomorrow, May 6th, from 3-4:30pm. A follow-up message will be sent out once the new time and date have been finalized.

HFMS Families: National Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6-10, 2024. Please take a moment to thank the amazing teachers of Harpers Ferry Middle School for their fearless dedication and care for our wonderful students.

HFMS Families, a reminder that WVGSA testing begins tomorrow in math, reading, and 8th grade science classes. Students should bring a charged chromebook, wired headphones, and a book to read. Thank you!

Yearbooks are coming in soon and will be handed out to students after state testing is completed, on May 13th. If you did not preorder a yearbook in the fall, there are still some for sale. Cost is $32 via cash or check made payable to HFMS. Payment is due by May 24th. There ss a limited amount available, so send in money quickly to secure a yearbook. 8th Grade students in Ms. Kern's WV History classes played Hatfield and McCoy feud. Students played on teams named after the famous feuding families and answered questions about them.

4/24/24: Harpers Ferry Middle School staff placed the school on a Hold drill early this morning as a result of an accidental 911 call made from a student cell phone. Law enforcement was dispatched per their protocol, and determined there was NO CREDIBLE concern. We have taken appropriate steps to ensure safety, and there is NO DANGER to students or staff. ✨ Miss West Virginia's Teen is sharing messages of positivity with sixth-grade girls! ✨Allison Dodson, a student at Washington High School, visited sixth-graders at Harpers Ferry Middle School to talk about the importance of creating healthy habits, cultivating self-acceptance, and embracing one's unique qualities through her program “Radiant Girls: Building Confidence from Within." Thank you to the HFMS counseling department for hosting this important conversation with our students!


6th Grade students in Ms. Dixon's ELA classes used Virtual Reality to visit Ancient Greek sites as part of their Greeks Unit. Students enjoyed their virtual field trip and how it connected to their readings.

Mark your calendars! The HFMS 8th Grade Recognition Ceremony is scheduled for May 23rd at 9:00 am. We will begin accepting guests at 8:30 am. This event will take place on the HFMS Football field, all are welcome. Rain date May 24th.
