Shepherdstown Elementary Association (PTO)

Welcome to a new school year!

The Shepherdstown Elementary Association (SEA) is excited about the learning, fun, and events we have ahead. As we enter this new school year, we wanted to share with you some background on the SEA, our board members, how to get involved, and how to get what you need to have a successful year.

First, the SEA is an organization made up of parents, guardians, professional staff, service personnel, students, and community members interested in promoting the interests of Shepherdstown Elementary School and its school community. The purpose of the SEA is to seek continual improvements to the academic environment for students, faculty, staff, and parents/guardians through such means as

  1. fostering communication among all school interests

  2. making improvements to school facilities and environment

  3. managing fundraising activities in support of school programs and projects.

Please reach out to any Executive Board officer with your ideas, comments, and concerns. We are excited about the year ahead!

Stay Connected!

Visit the Shepherdstown Elementary School Website at www.jcswv.org/ses for updates on our activities! We'll have posts on the SES Social feed, and the events calendar, and send notifications on the JCSWV App!

2023-2024 SEA Committee List

The work of the Association is done through our committees. Please consider signing up for committees by emailing the Executive Committee. Per SEA Bylaws, the Chair for each committee will be approved by the Executive Board. We will be doing volunteer sign-ups for specific events through the JCSWV App!

Resources for Families

We all want this year to be successful for our students and families. SES is fortunate to have a wonderful Guidance Counselor in Ms. Colbert who can connect families with community resources in the form of school supplies, backpacks, winter coats, food, etc. She can be reached by calling the school or emailing her at lcolbert@k12.wv.us.  Also, if your family would like financial help to attend an SEA event or activity, please reach out to Ms. Colbert, the school Principal, or an Executive Board officer.

Ways to Give

Throughout the school year there will be multiple opportunities for you to support our SES teachers, students, and community. Please keep an eye out for specific ways to help and thank you for all you do to make our SES community stronger!
